TMYS New Year's Lunch (Frank Mahieu) - Zonnebeke - 07/01/2017
A few images taken during today's Friends of the TMYS annual Christmas/New Year lunch in the Merlijn restaurant overlooking Robertson's Bridge at Reutel. This being the location where Captain Clement Robertson was awarded a posthumous & 1st VC to the Tank Corps on Oct 4th 1917. His loyal assistant Gunner Cyril Allen survived this particular action and was awarded the DCM. A further DCM and several MM's were also awarded to some of his tanks crew members during this particular assault. Wonderful company & food. All in all a super day out in a meaningful Tank Corps battlefield amongst loyal friends.
