27/01/2017 - Zillebeke
On Friday, 27 January 2017 a rededication service took place organized by the Commonwealth War Grave Commision and the Australian Embassy. Two graves got a new gravestone. In both cases, it concerns an Australian soldier, firts buried as an ‘unknown soldier’ but from whom th identity was now found.
The first soldier was 5003 private François Eveillard. Untill now he was mentionned on the Menin Gate, but now has a known grave at Hooge Crater Cemetery, plot XIV, D9.
The second soldier is 691 Private Alexander Williamson.
