Wood of Peace - Zonnebeke - 26/09/2017

In 2017, a tree will be planted for each fallen soldier with a known grave at the two British cemeteries of Polygon Wood, CWGC Buttes New British Cemetery and CWGC Polygon Wood Cemetery. In addition to this, a monument for all the missing soldiers will be erected in a central area in the new park. The Wood of Peace will keep the memory of those who lost their lives during WWI alive for many generations to come.

There will be two planting days: 26 September and 12 October 2017. Everyone who wants to plant a tree for a fallen soldier can/could register online. They can link up with the fallen soldier for whom they are planting a tree through his personal file.
