Remembrance New Zealand at the Menin Gate - Ieper - 10/10/2017
Please find below some photos of the spcial New Zealand remembrance at the Menin Gate in Ieper on Wednesday, 10 October 2017. More than 3.500 people attended the ceremony to remember the more than 800 New Zealand soldiers who were killed during the Third Battle of Ieper 100 years ago.

A special projection on the walls of the ramparts and the 14 meter long Maori Waka (kano) were organized. The waka was occupied by 10 Maori people in traditional clothes and a number of them were relatives of soldiers who died here 100 years ago. It was a beautiful and spectacular event on the ramparts of the city.

After the video projection, a special 'New Zealand' Last Post took place at 8.00 PM.
