On 1 August, the day after the 99th aniversary of the beginning of 3rd Ypres, a -usual- remembrance service was held for the Welsh soldiers who advanced from Pilkem Ridge in the direction of Langemark that very day in 1917. These Welshmen belonged to the 38 Welsh Division that also e.g. fought at the Somme (Mametz Wood). There's a memrorial dedictated to them over there with the typical red dragon. The Welsh monument at Langemark is the only one in Flanders dedicated to them.
(Some, photos herebut a full photo report was impossible since I was granted to recite the exhortation).
