October 25th 2023 at Dadizeele New British Cemetery, a rededication ceremony took place for Pte. PETER KEILL.

Pte Keill served with the 7th Bn. The Seaforth Highlanders and was killed in action during the final offensive on 1 October 1918 in the advance from Slyspkapelle onwards, capturing Ledegem, and pushing on to Rollegem Kapelle (West Flanders, Belgium).
Pte. Keil was only 20 years old. He was born in Gorvan (Glasgow) as son of Robert and Mary Keill. The family had ten children.
No longer unknown, finally known, remembered for ever more.

The ceremony was attended by relatives of Pte. Keill.
The service here was conducted by Revd. David Jeal, Chaplain to the 2nd Bn. The Royal Regiment of Scotland (Royal Highland Fusiliers).
A delegation of this regiment attended the ceremony after they performed the full military protocol this morning at the funeral service for L.Sgt. Brand. The ceremony was organised by the MOD & JCCC. The new headstone was made by the CWGC who will care for it in perpetuity.

Op 25 oktober 2023 vond op Dadizeele New British Cemetery een herinwijdingsceremonie plaats voor Pte. PETER KEILL. Pte Keill diende bij het 7th Bn. The Seaforth Highlanders en sneuvelde tijdens het slotoffensief op 1 oktober 1918 in de opmars van Slyspkapelle, waarbij Ledegem werd veroverd en doorgestoten naar Rollegem Kapelle (West-Vlaanderen, België). Pte. Keil was pas 20 jaar oud. Hij werd geboren in Gorvan (Glasgow) als zoon van Robert en Mary Keill. Het gezin kreeg tien kinderen.
Niet langer onbekend, eindelijk bekend, voor altijd herinnerd.

De ceremonie werd bijgewoond door familieleden van Pte. Keill. De dienst werd geleid door aalmoezenier David Jeal van het 2nd Bn.The Royal Regiment of Scotland (Royal Highland Fusiliers),. Een delegatie van dit regiment woonde  ook hier de plechtigheid bij nadat zij vanmorgen het volledige militaire protocol hadden uitgevoerd bij de begrafenis van L. Sgt. Brand
De ceremonie werd georganiseerd door de MOD & JCCC. Zoals altijd zorgde de CWGC voor het nieuwe graf en de grafsteen en zij zullen er ook blijvend zorg voor dragen.
