On 11 November, everything revolves around Armistice Day. We would like to give an overview of the activities you can attend in Zonnebeke.
 
Commemoration Ceremony

Armistice will be commemorated during a ceremony at Tyne Cot Cemetery, organised by the British Embassy in Belgium and the Municipality of Zonnebeke.

With the performance of the West Yorkshire Police Band and the Flanders Memorial Pipe Band.

Practical

On 11 November, the Tyne Cot Cemetery car park will not be accessible from 1pm to 6pm. You can park at Pasfrost (Passendalestraat 80). You can then walk up to Tyne Cot Cemetery or take the tourist train (distance: 900 metres). Buses can park at Pasfrost or on Roeselarestraat.
 
Mass

A mass is held at the church of Beselare in order to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers. An initiative of the Municipality of Zonnebeke, together with the veterans’ associations.

Coffee Stand

The volunteers of GPS 1917 vzw offer free coffee and tea at the car park of Tyne Cot Cemetery. An initiative of the Genootschap Passchendaele Society 1917 vzw together with the Municipality of Zonnebeke.

• Time: 9 AM until 5 PM (except 9 November: 1-5 PM)
• Location: Car Park, Tyne Cot Cemetery
• Practical: free entrance

On 9 & 10 November you can park your car at the surrounding streets or at the car park near Tyne Cot Cemetery.

Lament

The Field Marshal Haig’s Own Pipes & Drums plays a short lament on Tyne Cot Cemetery.

Book Fair

The local history society of Zonnebeke organises a book fair with a wide range of books about WWI, WWII, local history and history in general.
