November 11 Celebration at Diksmuide - Diksmuide - 11/11/2017
As every year in Diksmuide there was a memorial for Armistic Day.
It started with a commemoration at the Monument for Admiral Ronarc'h and the French Marinefuseliers.

Mrs. Nadine Labrador welcomed the attendees, particularly Capitaine de Vaisseau Jérôme Erulin and La délégation de la marine française. But also Colonel Marc Bouthé and Commander Serge Vanhoutte, representative of the Corps commander of the Battalion artillery. The city Council was also thanked for the relentless support.

A brief speech followed.

Reflection after the Communion:

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarece heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poopies grow
In Flanders fields.
