At the ramparts at the Menin Gate, Ypres, the fallen soldiers of India were again commemorated. The ceremony was attended by military and civilian officials from India, the UK, Belgium, the CWGC and the city of Ypres. Colour party was formed by men of the Royal Entente Ypres. Buglers of the Last Post Association played the Last Post and military tunes. This year the small intimate ceremony again was open for the public. This memorial is dedicated to the 130,000 soldiers of the Indian Forces who served in Flanders during the Great War and of whom 8,900 fell around Ypres. We Will Remember them.

Op de vestingwal (de vesten) aan de Menenpoort te Ieper werden de gesneuvelde Indische soldaten opnieuw herdacht. De plechtigheiod werd bijgewoond door militaire en burgelijke autoriteiten uit India, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, België, de CWGC en de stad Ieper. Vlaggendragers van de Koninklijke Entente Ieper brachten hun eerbetoon. De Last Post werd geblazen door klaroeners van de Last Post Association.

De kleine plechtigheid was dit jaar weer open voor het publiek. Het Indisch monumen herdenkt de 130 000 soldaten van de Indische Krijgsmacht die hier in Vlaanderen dienden tijdens de 1e Wereldoorlog en waarvan er 8900 in de Ieperboog sneuvelden. We blijven hen gedenken.
