jaarlijkse herdenking van de inzet van de Belgische Grenadiers en Carabiniers in de Slag bij Passendale van 28 Sept. 1918 en de bevrijding van de gemeente in het eindoffensief van de 1e Wereldoorlog. (Hier namen ook onze grootooms Alberic en Achiel aan deel.) We blijven hen gedenken.
Diverse oudstrijdersverenigingen verzorgden de vlaggen parade. De Militaire Provincie Commandant en leden van het Militair Commando Provincie West Vlaanderen woonden de plechtigheid bij, ook de Defensie attaché van Zuid Afrika, vertegenwoordigers van het Regiment Grenadiers en Carabiniers, alsook o.a. de burgemeester van Passendale en het Genootschap Passendale 1917. Muzikaal eresaluut werd gebracht door leden van Koninklijke Muziekkapel van de Gidsen, de lokale harmonie St. Cecilia verzorgde de andere muzikale inbreng. Tot lot werd een eregroet gebrachtt bij het lokale oorlogsgedenkteken.

annual commemoration of the sacrifice of the Belgian Grenadiers and Carabiniers in the Battle of Passchendaele of 28 Sept. 1918 and the liberation of the town in the final offensive of the Great War. (Our great-uncles Alberic and Achiel also participated in this battle.) Lest We Forget..
Various veterans' associations took care of the colour party. The military commander and members of the Military Command Province of West Flanders attended the ceremony, as well as the Defence Attaché of South Africa, representatives of the Grenadiers Regiment, and the mayor of Passchendaele, among others and the Passchendaele Society 1917. Musical salutes were brought by members of the (Belgian) Royal Military Band of the Guides, the local harmony St. Cecilia provided the other musical input. A salute at the local war memorial concluded the ceremony.
