Rededication service for Captain William Miles Kington DSO - Passendale - 19/06/2019
19/06/2019 - Passendale
A rededication service was held for Captain William Miles Kington DSO at 2.00pm at Tyne Cot Cemetery.
Captain Kington served with the 1st Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. He was killed on 20 October 1914 during the First Battle of Ypres. Recent research has identified his last resting place and CWGC is now able to mark his grave with a new headstone bearing his name.
The service has been organised by the Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre and will be attended by Defence Staff, Regimental representatives, CWGC staff and local dignitaries. Members of the public were welcome to attend.
