After the unveiling of an Australian silhouette memorial at Polygon Wood, a New Zealand one was unveiled at 's Graventafel, at the site of the Old Cheese factory. The ceremony was attended by the New Zealand Ambassador to Belgium Mrs. Diana Reaich and the NZ miltary Attaché Lt. Col. Rian McKinstry and other NZ military. Col. McKinstry was master of ceremony. His grandfather's cousin was one the men whio was killed in the area during the 1917 battle. The memorial stands in the sector where the New Zealand Division fought bitterly in October 1917 close to the 's Gravetafel New Zealand Memorial, looking towards Bellevue Spur. The NZ Division was particularly involved in battle here on the October 4th and 9th and on New Zealand Blackest Day Oct. 12th. when they suffered they greatest losses ever. The Australian delegation was also present. as were Belgian military and civil authorities.
