Successful reopening after extensive renewal
The Passchendaele Museum looks back with satisfaction on a successful spring. Between February and June, the museum welcomed 49,700 visitors. During February and March, it was partially accessible in the run-up to the official reopening on 5 April. That date marked the start of an important new chapter for the Passchendaele Museum following a thorough renewal.
“
We are especially grateful for the warm and positive feedback we have received from visitors regarding the revised and more chronological storyline, the renewed scenography and the interactive experience,” says Joachim Jonckheere, chair of the museum.
Summer offer for a wide audience
With the summer holidays approaching, the museum remains a key part of the cultural offer in Flanders Fields. The Passchendaele Museum is open daily – including public holidays – and provides a diverse and accessible experience for a broad audience. Highlights of the visit include the reconstructed trenches, a replica dugout, and the immersive experience Passchendaele 1917. The renewed, free audio guide enriches the visit with additional historical context, allowing visitors to gain deeper insight into the First World War at their own pace.
Interactive trail for families
For families with young children, there is the family-friendly trail On an adventure with Lisa, Louis and Maurice. Together with these characters, a booklet full of activities and a child-friendly audio guide, young visitors embark on a playful and educational journey through the museum.
