ANZAC Day Toronto Avenue Cemetery - Ploegsteert - 25/04/2022
ANZAC Day was again remembered at Ploegsteert and this for the 12th time.

The ceremony at Toronto Avenue Cemetery started at 3.00 pm and was organised by the Australien Embassy.

Toronto Avenue Cemetery was named from one of the paths in Ploegsteert Wood, in which it is located. The cemetery contains the graves of officers and men of the 9th Brigade (3rd Australian Division) who died in the Battle of Messines between 7 and 10 June 1917.

The cemetery contains 78 First World War burials, two of them unidentified. The cemetery was designed by G H Goldsmith.
