Wednesday 30 July 2025 marked the 110th anniversary of
Gilbert Talbot's death. He is buried at the British Cemetery
Sanctuary Wood Cemetery in Zillebeke near Hill 62. His brother, Revd. Neville Talbot, founded
Talbot House in Poperinge together with chaplain Philip “Tubby” Clayton in the same year. The house was named after Gilbert Talbot and still bears his name today.
Marijke Vandevyvere brought the story of Gilbert Talbot there in a very beautiful way: his youth, his political ambitions and his strong sense of duty.
Music was provided by the Honourable Artillery Company Regimental Band from the UK.
Welcome by Simon Louagie on behalf of Talbot House.
