The Flemish Heritage Institute (VIOE) and the AWA (Association for World War Archaeology) have done an archaeological dig in Ypres, along the road Ypres-Pilkem (Pilkemseweg, Ypres/Ieper). It consists of a British/French and German trenchsystem (Cake Trench and Helme Trench). Everyone could visit the site on Friday, 11 november 2005.
