Op 7 maart 2017 om 15u. vond op Perth Cemetery (China Wall) te Zillebeke (Ieper) de herbegrafenis plaats van drie ongeïdentificeerde soldaten uit de Grote Oorlog: één soldaat van de Lancashire Fusilier, één Nieuw Zeelandse soldaat en één volledig onbekende soldaat.

De stoffelijke overschotten van deze gesneuvelde mannen werden samen, in één graf bijgezet op de begraafplaats. Naast de vele Belgische, Britse en Franse vlaggendragers van veteranen en herdenkingsorganisaties waren er officiële vertegenwoordigers van Nieuw Zeeland en Groot Brittannië aanwezig waronder ook militairen van beide landen. De last Post werd eveens geblazen door soldaten uit beide landen. De plechtigheid werd voorgegaan door Rev. Chris Kellock, aalmoezenier van het 1e Bataljon Royal Fuseliers Regiment.

At Perth (China Wall) Cemetery (Zillebeke, Ypres) a reburial ceremony took place On 7 march 2017 at 3 PM for three unidentified soldiers of the Great War, one soldier of the Lancashire Fusiliers, a New Zealand soldier and an unknown soldier. The remains of these three men were buried together in one single grave. Standard bearers of British, Belgian and French veterans and remembrance associations, official representatives of New Zealand and Britain as well as military of both nations were present to pay their respect. The ceremony was led by Rev.Chris Kellock, Chaplain of the 1st. Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

Daarna volgt een gebed en de eigenlijke teraardebestelling waarbij symbolisch aarde wordt gestrooid over de kist/  A prayer at the final interment, symbolised by sprinkling a handful of earth on the coffin









De herdenkingsode wordt gereciteerd in het Maori door Brigadier E. Williams, hoofd van de Nieuw Zeelandse Militaire Staf in het Verenigd Koninkrijk /  The Ode of Remembrance is recited in Maori by Brigadier E. Williams, head of the New Zealand Defence Staff, United Kingdom.

De kist met de resten van een soldaat van de Lancashire Fusiliers, een Nieuw Zeelandse soldaat en een onbekende soldaat. Nu rusten ze, na een passende eervolle begrafenis, tussen hun gevallen vrienden. / the coffin with the remains of a soldier of the Lancashire Fusiliers, a New Zealand soldier and un unknown soldier. Now they finally rest, after a proper and honourful burial, amongst their fallen comrades.
