Sunday April 15th, on occasion of the centenary of the 4th Battle of Ypres, a ceremony was held at the Tank Memorial Ypres Salient" in Poelkapelle. Some officials attended as did sympathisers and several standardbearers amongst who Belgian and French Veterans Organisations, the RBL and the TMYS.
The wellknow opera singer Emma Brown sang 'Oh Danny Boy" and the National Anthems. Piper Gil Vermeulen of the YSPD excellently played the lament. Revd. Gillian Trinder, Honory Chaplain of the TMYS said the prayers and blessing. Amongst the officials, Colonel Onraedt, military Commander West Flanders, Commissionar General for the remembrance of WW1 Paul Breyne, Colonel Leon Symoens of the Armoured Forces, Alain Wyffels the mayor  Langemark-Poelkapelle, Alderman Sabine Vanderhaeghen  on bhealf of the mayor of Zonnebeke, the RBL whom all laid wreaths at the memorial. Colonel Symoens also recited the Exhortation.
The tankmemorial was erected in October 2009 by TMYS Chairman Chris Lock, commemorating the heroic efforts of 243 tankies who fell in the Ypres Salient during the Great War, and one who fell in the 2nd World War.  "From mud through blood to the green fields beyond"

Op zondag 15 april, ter gelegenheid van de eeuwherdenking van de 4e Slag bij Ieper, werd een  plechtigheid gehouden aan het "Tank Memorial Ypres Salient" (TMYS) te Poelkapelle in aanwezigheid van enkele autoriteiten en sympathisanten en verschillende vlaggendragers van o.a. Belgische en Franse Veteranenorganisaties, het RBL en de TMYS. Operazangeres Emma Brown bracht en mooie uitvoering van 'Oh Danny Boy' en zong ook de nationale volksliederen. Piper Gilles Vermeulen van YSPD  speelde voortreffelijk het lament.
Kapelaan Gillian Trinder, Ere Kapelaan van de TMYS sprak de gebeden en zegen uit. Onder de aanwezigen, Kolonel Onraedt, Militair commandant West-Vlaanderen, commissaris-generaal herdenking WO1 Paul Breyne,  Kolonel van het pantserwapen Leon Symoens, Dhr. Alain Wyffels, burgemeester van Langemark-Poelkapelle, schepen Sabine Vanderhaeghen namens de burgemeester van Zonnebeke, het RBL, de Friends of the TMYS, en allen legden bloemen neer. Kolonel Symoens sprak ook de exhortation uit. Het tankmonument werd in oktober 2009 opgericht door TMYS voorzitter Chris Lock, ter herinnering aan de tankslachtoffers van de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Poelkapelle was het decor voor een heuse tankoorlog in 1917. Dit monument herdenkt de heroïsche inzet van de tankbemanningsleden waarvan er een 243 het leven lieten in de Ieperboog in de 1^e Wereldoorlog en een in de 2e weredloorlog.
