From The Bluff to Hill 60 - Zillebeke - 08/03/2014
The war landscape from The Bluff to Hill 60

Please find below some pictures of a guided walk on Saturday, March, 8th, 2014 at De Palingbeek at Zillebeke. The frontline was situated here during the Great War. The sites are now subject to a project which will show you the importance of these sites during the Great War.

Hill 60, Larch Wood, The Caterpillar, The Bluff, Ravine Wood and the typical war cemeteries: these are all topsites which are wittnesses of the still authentical war landscape in the southern part of the Ypres' Salient. All these sites are now part of the provincial park De Palingbeek or are situated nearby. These sites are now getting more attention with the centenary activities. As from April 1915, the sites will be upgraded and will offer you the possibility to discover the stories of the Great War in this area.
