About Talbot House Tubby used to say "The foundations were in the loft". The Queen's Westminster Rifles, who were billeted in the storehouse next door, quickly grasped the artistic possibilities of the loft and transformed it into a chapel. Many thousands came to the services, during wich the chapel often "rocked like a huge cradle".
